I consider myself a woman in between cultures and societal ideologies/norms, because of this I have adopted my own belief system picking and choosing what I find I can apply to my life. I am a seeker of new experiences and learning opportunities. I am an idealist learning to be sprinkled with realism. I am a daughter, sister, friend and partner. An open minded human with basic principles of live and let live and understand first before seeking to be understood, just don't come knocking on my door asking me partake in your agenda(ha ha!). A nature lover, music admirer, move maker and image taker....www.paolamojica.com
I tend to be skeptical of mass media therefore limit my intake. I tend to think of media as having some type of agenda, atleast when they are trying to sell you something(idea or material). I choose what I want access to and season it with mainstream media/news so that I can have a sense of whats going on in the world. I don't have cable in my household, though I am first to admit If I did I would be sucked into watching so much more t.v.! When I do watch t.v. I am always shocked at commercials for prescriptive drugs that seem to do more harm than good. Hello 88 side effects! I think that part of our society has become very distant from our bodies and each other, what we eat and where it comes from, how that affects our health and how we are affecting each other. On that serious note here's a link with a somewhat funny title of a book that I shot the photographs for:
Although I am far from being a luddite sometimes I think I would be very happy having a home where I grew my own food, sewed my clothes and had to have access to the internet! ( and I guess some money, right?) There are lot of positive and awesome things going on in the world and you can find them via the web.
