Fierce & Fit is a social media campaign which promotes positive body image by creating a safe space community. Everyone was blessed with a body of their own. Yet instead of celebrating the beauty of our diverse figures, shapes, curves, and minds, why do we pick each other apart to trim down to the single image of beauty society presents us?
Fierceness & fitness look different for everyone. The Fierce & Fit community challenges the messages from the media, society, and culture, which shape how we think of our bodies.Without holding a particular body type as the ideal or shaming other body sizes, Fierce & Fit celebrates what it looks like to be FIERCE & FIT rather than accepting what society tells us is beautiful.
Using growing social media sites (Twitter and Tumblr), Fierce & Fit uses these platforms for creating dialogue around societal, institutional issues such as body image, beauty standards, thin privilege, fat shaming, weightism, and media/advertising's role on young female's self-esteem.
