On Katie's show today on ABC she interviewed Lolo Jones, Tyra Banks! And the newscaster attacked for her weight Jennifer Livingston. Very good interview about these women being scrutinized and their reactions.
I was just thinking about the video we watched in class and I there were many emotions running through my mind one of them was that I though that it was sad and scary that a young girl in the video had a sister who had cut herself because she is being bullied. It made me think of the presentation because perhaps part of being bullied could be because women and young girls are portrayed to be a certain way and when they do not embody that image it could be one of the reasons why they get picked on. Perhaps if women were praised for their accomplishments and not just their looks then perhaps it could have girls no longer be seen only for the physical qualities, but someone with many valuable things to say and do.
